Hank Butzel

Thursday, the tightly woven community of Missoula hang glider pilots suffered a huge loss. Our close friend Hank Butzel died while flying his sail plane in Idaho. Hank was a wonderful person whom I was lucky enough to know and form many great memories with. He will be greatly missed.

Hank was a huge supporter of a glass studio I co-owned in Florence in the early 2000's. He took classes from us and would always come down to play. He used to fly us around the mountains in his Sesna. I am sad to hear of his passing. I will always remember him fondly. -Robin Rogers

Hank lived on my block. He was an amazing and giving person. He spent countless hours pulling weeds in Greenough Park and donated time and money to many worthy causes in the area. Here's to a life well lived! RIP Hank and thank you for everything you did to make our world a better place.

I knew Hank when he moved from Colorado to Missoula with his girlfriend. We had some great times and many laughs. I would have been at his service had I known but we lost touch many years ago. My condolences to his family and many friends, he will be greatly missed. RIP my friend.
